Grand Trivia League (GTL) Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using GTL’s website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.

2. Eligibility

• Age Requirement: GTL is intended for individuals aged 13 years and older. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old.
• Geographical Restrictions for Prizes: While individuals from any country may participate in GTL’s trivia games and form teams across different states or regions, eligibility to win season or championship prizes is restricted to teams where:
  • All members are located within the United States.
  • A majority of active players are located within the state of team registration.

3. Registration and Account

• Account Creation: To participate, users must create an account by providing accurate and complete information as prompted by the registration form. You agree to update your information promptly to ensure it remains accurate and complete.
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Team Requirements

• Team Composition: Teams can be formed across different states or regions without geographical restrictions. However, to be eligible for season or championship prizes, the team must comply with the geographical restrictions outlined in Section 2.
• Active Players Definition: Active players are defined as those who participate in the trivia games with a frequency determined by GTL each season. GTL reserves the right to define and modify the criteria for active players as needed.

5. Prizes and Eligibility

• Prize Availability: GTL may offer prizes for seasons and championships in the future. However, there are no guarantees that such prizes will be available.
• Prize Eligibility: To be eligible for season or championship prizes, teams must comply with the geographical restrictions outlined in Section 2. Prizes, if offered, are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.
• Abuse Prevention: GTL reserves the right to verify the location and activity of team members to prevent abuse. Any team found violating these terms may be disqualified from eligibility for prizes.

6. User Conduct

Users agree to use GTL’s services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing false or misleading information during registration.
• Attempting to manipulate game outcomes or prize eligibility.
• Engaging in any behavior that disrupts or interferes with the functionality of GTL’s services.
• Using GTL’s intellectual property for unauthorized purposes.

7. Intellectual Property

• Ownership: All content, including but not limited to trivia questions, answers, text, graphics, logos, images, and software (“Content”) displayed on GTL’s website is the property of GTL Games LLC or its licensors and is protected by United States and international intellectual property laws.
• Use of Content: All Content is considered GTL’s intellectual property. By accessing and using GTL’s services, you agree not to reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any Content without GTL’s prior written consent.
• Limited License: GTL Games LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms.

8. Health and Wellness Disclaimer

• Potential Cognitive Benefits: GTL Games LLC believes that engaging in our trivia games may contribute to maintaining and enhancing cognitive functions, based on existing research on brain games and cognitive stimulation.
• No Medical Claims: While we hope our services support brain health and help with mild cognitive impairment, GTL Games LLC does not make any medical claims or guarantees regarding these benefits. The statements about cognitive benefits are based on general research and are not specific to our services.
• No Verification: GTL Games LLC has not conducted independent studies or clinical trials to verify the cognitive benefits of our trivia games. Therefore, we do not claim to have confirmed any health benefits.
• Consult Professionals: Users are encouraged to consult with healthcare professionals for any medical or health-related concerns. GTL Games LLC is not responsible for any outcomes resulting from the use of our services or reliance on the information provided.

9. Intellectual Property Infringement

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. It is our policy to respond to any claim that Content posted on the Service infringes a copyright or other intellectual property rights of any person.

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized on behalf of one, and you believe that the copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement that is taking place through the Service, you must submit your notice in writing to the attention of our copyright agent via email at support@gtlgames.net and include in your notice a detailed description of the alleged infringement.

• Accuracy of Content: While GTL Games LLC strives to ensure the accuracy of trivia questions and answers, we do not guarantee or warrant their correctness. All content is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind.
• Service Availability: GTL Games LLC does not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer: The Service is provided to you "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" and with all faults and defects without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, GTL Games LLC, on its own behalf, expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, with respect to the Service, including all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and warranties that may arise out of course of dealing, course of performance, usage or trade practice. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall GTL Games LLC or its suppliers be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, loss of data or other information, for business interruption, losses associated with event costs, cost of substitute alternative services, any punitive or exemplary damages, loss for personal injury, loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the Service, third-party software and/or third-party hardware used with the Service, or otherwise in connection with any provision of these Terms), even if GTL Games LLC or any supplier has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if the remedy fails of its essential purpose.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold GTL Games LLC, its founders, directors, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of content you submit, post, transmit or otherwise make available through the Service, your use of the Service, your connection to the Service, your violation of these Terms, including, without limitation, the Acceptable Use Policy, or your violation of any rights of another. You acknowledge that you are responsible for all use of the Service using your account, including use by subaccounts, and that these Terms, including, without limitation, the Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time, apply to any and all usage of your account, including use by subaccounts. You agree to abide by these Terms and you agree to defend, hold harmless, and indemnify GTL Games LLC from and against any and all claims stemming from usage of this account and any subaccounts, whether or not such usage is expressly authorized by you.

Some jurisdictions do not allow indemnification clauses, so some or all of the above indemnification clause may not apply to you. But in such a case, the indemnification clause set forth in this section shall be applied to the greatest extent enforceable under applicable law.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if:

• You breach these Terms and Conditions.
• You use our Service in a manner that adversely affects other customers or harasses them, our employees, or others.
• You use our Service to engage in fraud or unlawful conduct or are suspected of doing so.
• You use our Service in a manner that is excessive or unreasonable when compared to the predominant usage patterns of other customers on a similar subscription plan (and we may also implement charges or change you to the appropriate subscription plan consistent with such use).
• You resell any part of our Service, or resell our Service in its entirety.
• You do not pay any amount billed by us, including disputed amounts that GTL Games LLC determines are valid charges to your account.

We may restore such interrupted or terminated Service, in our sole discretion, following your correction of the violation and payment of any amounts due, including any restoration charge we assess for restoring your Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service by downgrading your subscription and then deleting your account, both of which can be done on the website.

Your use of GTL Games LLC’s services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
